Journey Begins with Daffodil Computers (1990) : Daffodil Computers Ltd is the first initiative of Daffodil Group which came in to the market in the year 1990 as a conventional ICT Training & Trading house. To disseminate ICT in Bangladesh, involving the local Human Resources in ICT and to bring all possible ICT services in the country DCL was initiated. With the pace of time DCL is expanding its services, offers and features.

Soon the company started the ICT Training, Computer Sales & Support services seeing its demand in the peoples mind. 

Where the trend starts (1993): Daffodil first started assembling CDCOM clone PC with imported parts from Singapore and the idea earned the acceptability and huge popularity in the clone PC marketing.

The Milestone (1995): DCL instigated the Super Store idea for the first time in Bangladesh, which created enormous enthusiasm and plunge in the ICT sector.One eminent IT journalist titled Daffodil in his Newspaper as “Daffodil for young generation”.

DCL as partner of Multinational Brands (1996):

The first website of IT industry www.daffodil-bd.com was developed. Daffodil was appointed as the representative of many  Internationally reputed brands like HP Intel, Microsoft, Ingram Micro, Dr. Solomon Antivirus (which is now NAI), and Quantum etc with respective relationships.

DCL extended its operation (1997): Daffodil started opening branches in different areas and the first branch established in Elephant Road and 2nd branch in Banani.

DCL stepped In the field of IT education (1997):

• Daffodil started a training center Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) to educate young generation and provide them opportunity to earn International Standard Degree in computing, business & accounting qualification. 
• Company Status: DCL got registered with Joint Stock Company as Limited Company

Innovation and development of new sector in the Industry (1998):

• Computer Clinic was establishes to provide better services to the clients. Today it has four branches.
• Started 4^th Sales Centre in IDB, BCS Computer City
• Started its Operation in Sylhet, Khulna
• Become Partner of Ingram Micro South Asia (one of largest distribution channel in the world).
• Appointed as a sole Distributor of FIC (First International Corporation), Mitsumi, Chintax, APC brands etc.

Really a successful Year with splendid achievements (2000)

• The most memorable rally of DCL which travelled the city with the message“100% Y2K bug free country”
• Te first Job Portal www.jobsbd.com emerged in Bangladesh.
• Daffodil online buying service www.daffodilonline.com was established
• Daffodil web & ecommerce launched
• DaffodilPC achieved 1SO9002 Certification  
• DCL became the 1st Bangladeshi IT Company who has been awarded ISO 9000.
• DaffodilPC establish its concept; Love Bangladesh love daffodilPC.
• Daffodil Computers Ltd. awarded as the only HP Corporate Reseller and Authorized Service Provider in Bangladesh.
• Education Venture DIIT started operation in Chittagong & Motijheel branch & got approval from National University to conduct BBA and B.SC (Hons) in CIS
• DCL awarded as the sole distributor of GIS (Geographic Information System) products for Bangladesh of Calcomp brand of GTCO Calcomp, USA.

Where IT turns (2001) :

• DCL strengthen to be the No.1 by enormous sell figures
• DCL incorporated Daffodil Software Ltd.
• DCL started its operation in Narayangong and Comilla.
• Training Wing DIIT started operation in Feni
• Established Daffodil Multimedia and it released 1st Digital Magazine of Bangladesh in the name of Digibangla.
• Established Career Development Program (CDP) to give the guidance and training to the unemployed but educated people in the country
• Daffodil International University came into being with approval of the Ministry of Education under Private University Act of 1992.
• Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI) started its operation to train and educated the youth of the country in technical and professional skills.
• DCL has become the strongest IT vendor in the country with the utilization of its HR, Labs, Researches, IT development and its with 13 years experience.
• DaffodilPC faced the 2nd surveillance of ISO 9000 with more perfection than ever before.
• Daffodil Software Ltd. awarded Railway Reservation Ticketing system as BOT (Build, Operation and Transfer) project under Ministry of Communication, which is the largest IT project in govt. sector till to date.
• Daffodil Software Ltd. finished its centralized banking solution under the name Daffodil Bank.

Where to go for total IT solution? (2002): 

Converted into the Public Limited Company (by share) & Achievement in International Area 2003:

• As a pioneer and only ICT business and service company DCL converted into the public limited company and share issued to the public and share trading has started to take place at Chittagong Stock Exchange.
• DIIT achieved “Best Partner Award” of NCC Education UK in the year 2003 among 45 countries

Great Expansion in Education Sector (2004)

• Established Daffodil International College to ensure quality education at college level
• Daffodil Foundation was established which is registered with Joint Stock Companies of Bangladesh under Society Registration Act 1860. The mission is to develop and provide realistic solutions to the major educational, environmental, health & population problems facing the poor people of Bangladesh.
• Daffodil took the ownership of Technokids Bangladesh and renamed it as Daffodil Technokids
• Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) was establishes to provide professional Training to unemployed and as well as to employed persons to develop their skills.

Local Joint Collaboration (2005):

• Daffodil Grameen IT Education- a joint effort of Daffodil Computers Limited and Grameen Star Education established a pioneer IT qualification awarding body.
• DIIT achieved “Academic Excellence Award” of NCC Education UK among 45 countries

International Joint Venture & year of recognition(2006):

• Joint Venture with the most popular Malaysian job portal, Jobstreet.com, and established a new venture JS e-Recruitment Limited in Bangladesh.
• Daffodil International University achieved Beautification Award 2006 presented by the honorable Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia

Inclusion of Sprout International (English medium) School (2007):

Inclusion of Sprout International (English medium) School is another achievement in education sector in Bangladesh.

International Joint Collaboration (2007):

 Joint Collaboration with the prominent software company Britesoft of Malaysia to meet up the growing need of software demand for local as well as international market

 Expansion of Company (2008):

Daffodil owned Dolphin Computers Limited, a leading company of country's IT sector, started its journey in the second day of July 1986 and merged with Daffodil. Dolphin is now one of the largest retail super stores of the country.

Mile Stone Steps introducing Daffodil International School (2009):

Daffodil International School (DIS) has been established with the Chain School concept, sponsored by Daffodil Computers Ltd. that will be established very soon in 64 districts of Bangladesh. Already it has 3 branches in Dhaka & Chandpur District.
